Enjoy Kings
Heath BID
Business Improvement District serving King’s Heath, a suburb in south Birmingham known for its creative spirit and independent shops.
The Challenge
The existing Enjoy King’s Heath brand felt outdated and didn’t reflect the vibrant, modern personality of the area. King’s Heath today is full of independent shops, cafes, galleries, live music venues, artisan markets, and a strong sense of local culture. The brand needed to feel fresh, inclusive, and representative of this creativity. It had to resonate with shop owners, residents, visitors, and the local arts community.
The Brief
Create a brand that:
Reflects King’s Heath as a modern, creative hub.
Emphasises independent businesses, art, community, and live music.
Is bold yet welcoming, and easy to use across signage, digital, and print.
Helps the BID support and celebrate the unique character of King’s Heath.
Our Approach
Research & Discovery
We explored King’s Heath’s character: the artisan and farmers’ markets, independent shops, galleries, and venues like Hare & Hounds, known for live music since the 1970s
Creative Exploration
Developed concepts inspired by local colours, textures, and creative energy -bold hues, playful fonts, and flexible layouts that reflect the diversity of the district.
Stakeholder Workshops
We ran sessions with local businesses, artists, and community members to make sure the identity felt authentic to them.
Rollout Strategy
Created templates for shopfront signage, posters, digital banners, market stalls, and social media, all designed for easy local adoption.
The Outcome
A fresh, vibrant brand that captures the modern creative energy of King’s Heath.
Adoption across the neighbourhood, from shopfronts and cafés to events and social media.
Stronger buy-in from community members, artists, and business owners.
A sense that the brand truly belongs to the place, not just designed for it.
