Just the three of us.

By Andy Lovell, Senior Account Manager

Every now and then someone asks us, “So… when are you going to get bigger?” It’s a fair question.

I think there’s an assumption that every agency wants to get bigger. More people. More departments. Bigger offices. Bigger clients with bigger budgets.

We’ve never really been in a rush.

There are three of us at YST. Damian, Emma and me.

We’ve worked together for years now, and somewhere along the way we realised we’d found something that works.

We know how each other thinks. We know when to challenge an idea, when to let it breathe and when someone’s onto something. More than anything though, we genuinely enjoy working together. It probably sounds a bit cheesy, but after all these years, it’s true.

Our days are rarely structured. One of us might be in the studio, someone else could be working from home, another could be on a call with a client, or we might all end up around the same screen for twenty minutes picking apart an idea. There isn’t really a process for that. It just happens. Yet somehow, that’s where the best work usually comes from. And I think thats the bit we’d struggle to give up.

We know that won’t be right for everyone.

Some businesses genuinely need a much bigger agency and thats completely fine. But for others, that’s not what they’re looking for.

Sometimes you just want to work with people who’ll listen, be honest with you, challenge your thinking when they need to and genuinely care about getting the job right. That’s always been us.

Will we grow one day? Maybe. But not at the expense of what we’ve built. We’ve never wanted to be the biggest agency in Birmingham. We’d much rather be the one people enjoy working with.

If someone finishes a project and thinks, “I’d happily work with those three again,” we’ll take that every single day of the week.

If you’re looking for an agency that’s a little more personal, we’d love to have a chat. No pitches, no pressure, just a conversation about what you’re trying to achieve and whether we’re the right fit. Contact Us
