NEXIS is an operational management platform bringing planning, people, performance and live operational data together in one connected system.

Working alongside Mapped Out Solutions, YST helped translate that complexity into a clear, coherent digital experience, developing the UX architecture, interface design and scalable design system behind the product.

One platform.
A lot going on.

Planning. Actions. Meetings. Teams. KPIs. Delays. Compliance. Reporting.

NEXIS brings a huge amount of operational information together. The challenge was making it accessible without simplifying the functionality behind it.

How do you make something inherently complex feel simple to use?

From requirements to experience.

Before we could design how NEXIS looked, we had to understand how NEXIS worked.

Starting with the Product Requirements Document [PRD], we translated technical requirements, epics and user stories into a visual architecture for the product.

PRD → Screen Map → Wireframes → Component Library → Screen States

This gave us a clear view of the platform, how functionality connected and how users needed to move through it, while retaining traceability back to the original requirements.

Designing the system.

Rather than designing individual screens in isolation, we created a scalable design system for NEXIS.

Colour, typography, navigation, buttons, inputs, cards, alerts, status indicators, icons and interaction states were developed into a comprehensive component library.

Those components became reusable patterns and templates for dashboards, meetings, action plans, KPIs and operational views.

Not simply a collection of screens. A system for building them.

Designed to grow.

The component library became a single source of truth for NEXIS, giving design and development teams a shared framework for building new functionality consistently.

Reusable components, defined states and documented interface rules created a clear connection between design intent and implementation, allowing the product to continue evolving without losing coherence.

From complexity to clarity.

Requirements became architecture.
Architecture became journeys.
Journeys became components.
Components became a system.

YST helped bridge the space between engineering and experience, creating a digital framework capable of making a complex operational platform clear, consistent and scalable.

Building something complicated?

From product architecture and UX to interface design and scalable design systems, we can help make it work beautifully.
